Mariners Erase Three-Run Deficit With Walk-Off in 10th

SEA def. SF · July 18, 2026 · Final: Mariners 4, Giants 3

Seattle trailed by three heading into the seventh inning at T-Mobile Park, and with each passing out the window narrowed. San Francisco Giants third baseman Rafael Devers had homered in the top of the sixth to make it 2-0, and Giants shortstop Willy Adames followed moments later with a solo shot of his own, pushing it to 3-0. The Mariners' win probability sat at 10% in the bottom of the seventh.

That's when Seattle second baseman Cole Young stepped in.

With Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena and first baseman Josh Naylor on base, Young drove a fly ball to right center that cleared the fence — his 12th home run of the season — and all three runs scored. A 3-0 deficit was gone in one swing, the game tied at 3.

The score held there through the eighth and ninth. Both bullpens kept the game level, and Seattle carried a knotted game into extra innings.

In the bottom of the 10th, the Mariners worked the automatic runner into scoring position. Designated hitter Julio Rodríguez came to the plate with a chance to end it. He lifted a sacrifice fly to left field, deep enough to bring Victor Robles home from third.

Robles crossed the plate, and Seattle had its lead for the first time all game.

Seattle Mariners 4, San Francisco Giants 3.
