Angels Erase Three-Run Deficit, Walk Off Orioles in 10th
LAA def. BAL · June 24, 2026 · Final: Angels 7, Orioles 6
Los Angeles trailed 5-2 after three innings, their win probability down to 6.2% late in the game, before the Angels carved their way back to a 7-6 walk-off win over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday at home.
Angels DH Jorge Soler gave Los Angeles the early edge in the bottom of the first, driving a two-run homer to left field — Wade Meckler scoring ahead of him — to put the Angels up 2-0.
Baltimore answered in the top of the second when Orioles catcher Samuel Basallo launched a two-run shot to right center, scoring Pete Alonso to tie it at 2-2. Basallo struck again in the top of the third — first Alonso's run-scoring double made it 3-2 Baltimore, then Basallo connected for his second homer of the game, a two-run fly to right that pushed the lead to 5-2. That was the hole the Angels had to climb out of.
They didn't move until the bottom of the eighth. Angels third baseman Vaughn Grissom lined a single to left, scoring Donovan Walton to make it 5-3. Then Angels right fielder Wade Meckler grounded a single to right, scoring Grissom and Nolan Schanuel to tie the game at 5-5.
Baltimore reclaimed the lead in the top of the tenth when Alonso singled home Taylor Ward to put the Orioles up 6-5.
The Angels answered immediately. In the bottom of the tenth, Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel reached on a missed-catch error by pitcher Keegan Akin, and Oswald Peraza came around to score, tying it at 6-6.
Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe then grounded a soft single to catcher Basallo, and Schanuel crossed the plate with the winning run.
