Brewers Erase Four-Run Hole, Rally Past Athletics 15-14 in 12

MIL def. ATH · June 8, 2026 · Final: Brewers 15, Athletics 14

Milwaukee trailed 8-4 after a punishing bottom of the third in Oakland, and by the top of the seventh the Brewers' win probability had sunk to 4.5 percent. What they did over the next five innings turned that into a 15-14 road victory.

The Brewers drew first blood in the top of the first when Milwaukee right fielder Jake Bauers singled to plate Jackson Chourio, making it 1-0. Oakland answered and then some, building an 8-4 lead through three innings on a three-run home run by Athletics catcher Tyler Soderstrom and a solo shot by Athletics second baseman Zack Gelof in the bottom of the third.

Milwaukee first baseman Andrew Vaughn started chipping away, doubling in William Contreras in the top of the fifth to make it 8-5. Oakland extended to 9-5 in the bottom of the sixth, and in the top of the seventh, with the deficit at four, Bauers launched a two-run home run to center to cut it to 9-7.

Oakland pushed back to 10-7 in the bottom of the seventh. Then Vaughn struck again — his two-run double to left in the top of the ninth scored Contreras and Blake Perkins, tying it at 10.

In the top of the tenth, Milwaukee left fielder Jackson Chourio lifted a sacrifice fly to score David Hamilton, and Brewers catcher William Contreras followed with a three-run home run to center, pushing the lead to 14-10. Oakland rallied in the bottom of the tenth — a Shea Langeliers single, a Nick Kurtz two-run homer, and a Jonah Heim solo shot pulled it back to 14-14.

The Brewers got the game to the twelfth, and Milwaukee second baseman Brice Turang reached on a fielder's choice that scored Christian Yelich with the go-ahead run. Final: Milwaukee 15, Oakland 14.
